Wednesday, December 31, 2003. 23.33 (gmt+1). Whoever said I was pathetic... was right. Completely and totally right. (I know I said that earlier, so... *lol) I'm sitting around at home, my sister is out to party into the new year, my dad's at work and my mom decided it was a good idea to start a fight, so I'm all alone hanging around my computer. I didn't even get to see that "Dinner for One" show I was looking forward to seeing. And yeah, I know how there are people who think that this is pathetic, too. So... Could anyone please end this miserable misery? I mean, am I like... the total loser? Please tell me no, because... gah, this so totally sucks! I need encouragement. And a hug. Badly. Updated. Added some fanlistings. Had nothing else to do. Might add some more even.
Thursday, December 25, 2003. 02.03 (gmt+1). Everyone's asleep now. 'Cept for me, of course. Anyway, I got a pretty cool gadget (besides other neat and not-so-neat stuff) with which I can listen to music in all thinkable and unthinkable ways. Now I only need to unpack it and find out how it works... Also, I was impressed that I still knew the lyrics to a couple of German Christmas songs, 'though I'm not in the school choir anymore. Yes, we always sing (all by ourselves) before unpacking our gifts (as in "ripping them open like a care pakage" *lol). Updated. Again more photos. Random Me.
Wednesday, December 24, 2003. 20.28 (gmt+1). Merry Christmas to all of you! Yes, I'm online on Christmas Eve. Am I pathetic or what? My dad worked the late shift so we had to wait for him. But now I'm off to have fun with my presents! (And my family of course.) Updated. More photos. Kitchen adventures.
Monday, December 22, 2003. 04.15 (gmt+1). Am very tired. (Surprise! Surprise!) Should have been cleaning my room today. We're expecting guests soon, after all! Didn't do it. Went to see LOTR in english. Only they must have still had the german pictures. All the subtitles when they were talking elvish were in german. Missed the last train home by an hour (DB sucks!) and had to wake up my sister (who answered the phone) and my dad to come and pick me up at 12:30 a.m. Updated. Another badge of photos up. This time it's all family.
Saturday, December 20, 2003. 00.53 (gmt+1). Again I have been collecting signatures. Seems like I have nothing else to do anymore. Hehe. But I was so tired today after I chatted all night with the people from Musings until almost six in the morning! Or rather, I didn't really chat, but just followed the conversation until I really had to go and then stayed and actually chatted for like another hour. Anyway, I'm still dead tired and can't think straight. (Kinda.) So my point is, I wanted to update the photo section today with all the pictures I scanned sometime during the last two weeks. Only my friend Chrissy called me on the phone and asked if I wanted to go to the movies on Saturday night and see the "Lord Of The Rings"-trilogy. I saw the "Return Of The King" on Thursday already, but I figured I didn't have to tell her since I wanted to see it again anyway. So in the end all I could finish, updatewise, was a site with a bunch of pictures of our cats. Updated. Yeah. The photo page, as I said. Not as much as I wanted to, but still. Enjoy.
Sunday, December 07, 2003. 04.13 (gmt+1). Was collecting signatures again on Friday with daddy's collegue.
Got about over a hundred in two hours. Mall security wouldn't let us collect in front of the mall so we went to stand in front of the supermarket.
Much better. Also had some pretty interesting conversations with people about our social system which is going to ruin right now.
Because of laws like the one we're standing up against.
I have been baking christmas cookies like a crazywoman in the past two weeks.
And am still far from done. Am going to try a "Dresdner Christ-Stollen" on Monday or Tuesday.
So far everything I tried turned out good, but wish me luck, anyway.
Never made a stollen before.
I should spend less time online and playing FreeCell. Got tons of scanning to catch up with. Cookie pictures!
Updated. Radical changes on the link page.
Put all the fanlistings on a separate page because I'm planning to add there all the ones that are still liked to my old site.
Also added a new picture to the art part. It's a draft I made before painting my face green for that contest which I did not win.
Because otherwise I'd be off to LA on Monday. Darn.
Tuesday, November 25, 2003. 00.21 (gmt+1). I made cookie dough today.
(I'm saying "today" because "tomorrow" will start after I went to sleep and get up again. So, yes, I'm still talking Monday. LoL)
I thought I was supposed to also *bake the cookies today (yes, it's a *chore), but my mom said, she wanted me to buy the ingredients today and make them tomorrow.
She can be confusing at times. I've been making cookies for the last two years before I went to the states.
The toadstool ones have always been a hit! Maybe I'll post some pictures after I'm done with this year's baking mess.
We went to see my grandma on Saturday. I know it's not exactly the most exciting thing to write about.
I can be so dull sometimes, hehe. She needed to see the results of my ongoing hair-dyeing-experiment.
Because I've been bleaching my bangs since November 3. Very Rogue-ish.
I might be posting pictures of that as well. Right now I have dyed my hair over for the third time.
It's still not white, but I'm getting there.
Having the blackest black hair doesn't exactly give you the best starting position if you like to dye your hair.
If you know what I mean. After the first time it was red-orange.
By the way, yes, it's fried now.
Updated. As promised, the first set of photos is up. Also, I added a few links.
Friday, November 21, 2003. 02.56 (gmt+1). So I guess we're back to being lazy. Updatewise.
Arrgh! Almost one month. And I don't even have all the pages up. I suck.
All I've been doing was joining fanlistings (I'm such a fangirl!)
Anyway, I went to the semi-finale of the F6 Music Award in Berlin on November 1.
Six, one of my fave bands participated. There isn't really much you can find about the F6MA on the internet since F6 is a cigarrette brand. So no official website.
There's an unofficial site where you can find some info in German.
Only they're not allowed to update anymore for the same reason why there's no official site.
So here's some info from me: The F6MA is a band contest for unsigned bands from east Germany (F6 is an east German brand, too).
The six best bands from each of the six east German states are picked and invited to one of five semi-finales.
Berlin and Brandenburg go together and have two winners, one from Berlin, one from Brandenburg.
That's where I went on Saturday three weeks ago. I basically went there to see Six. Six won. YAY!
Even though they still played one covered song which you're not supposed to do because that means points off.
The six winners of the semi-finales are going to play at the finale on January 24, 2004 in Berlin (Columbiahalle).
Grand prize is a record contract with BMG, runner-ups get a paid production of a single-CD or professionally produced demo CDs and a keyboard or any instrument they need.
So, while the jury was deciding who to send to the grand finale, Echolot, the winners from 2001 played.
They're kind of an electro-pop-rock band and had an awesome performance. Which is why I'm mentioning them.
They have a website, too, if you want to check them out on a concert.
Really, you should do that. Anyway, did I mention that Six won? Six won! Man, I'm still excited! And I'm just a fan.
Well, you know where I'm gonna be on January 24 next year.
By the way, check out the official Six website!
Oh and I'm participating in an MTV.de contest where you have to dress up as a mutant (yeah, it's got to do with X-Men 2), paint your face and stuff and then send in the photo.
Grand prize is a one-week-trip to Los Angeles and closing date is November 23, 2003.
I scanned in the pictures I took and put them online, but I won't link them to my photo page until Sunday night.
I'm superstitious. Plus I don't want anyone to steal my idea. LoL.
Updated. Nothing, really. Ok, I added and fixed some links, but that's about it. I'm very lazy, you know.
Saturday, October 25, 2003. 03.15 (gmt+1). I spent all afternoon today with my dad and his collegue collecting signatures for a "Children and youth friendly Saxony-Anhalt". We have a new law here which says that children whose parents are unemployed are not allowed to go to the kindergarten or day care centers full day, but only half a day or not at all. Which is a farce. Children need to be with children. Child care centers aren't just places where you dump your children when you've got no time for them. They're an important factor for a child's socialisation, education and well-being, especially considering that sadly enough sometimes unemployed parents can't even provide a warm meal or offer age specific activity. That's really just some, but still. This law means unequal treatment for our children, unequal rights and unequal chances. I think it's a crime to pass a law like this. The sad thing is, many people don't even realize that they're concerned, because they don't have children that age right now. But our children are our future and the last thing we should save on! Updated. Not much this time, just joined a few cliques and fixed a link.
Tuesday, October 21, 2003. 23.19 (gmt+1). My guestbook is working again. Haha. Yay.
Tuesday, October 21, 2003. 21.38 (gmt+1). Man I am so tired! And I've only worked for 4 hours. Well, yeah, I didn't sleep enough, but then again, I never do. I guess my inner watch is still set on new york time, so I can't get up at five in the morning. I'm not even sure if I really wanna keep doing this job. There's gotta be something else to do around here other than cleaning a hospital. But oh well, I'll just do this until I find something better (maybe even something involving a better salary)... Um, gotta go sleep. Updated. Added fourteen pictures to the art part and one more poem that I found today when I was looking for my original drawings to make some better scans. Only I didn't find them. Am devastated.
Sunday, October 19, 2003. 22.05 (gmt+1). Tell you what, I didn't sleep. I made an apple cake instead, did the dishes and cooked lunch for my sister and me after I had a shower and two big cups of strong coffee. THEN I got to sleep for two hours. Finally. The strange thing is, I'm not really tired, I mean I feel like I could stay awake all night once more. Only that I won't do that because tomorrow I'll have to start work at 6am. I should have been in bed two hours ago. Updated. Have added photos on the page about me and content to the art part. Nine poems to be exact. Enjoy.
Sunday, October 19, 2003. 08.04 (gmt+1). Spent all night setting this page up. It actually took so long because I've been joining all those fanlistings while doing so.
This is Round Three, the third version of my own personal website and its third home. This time it's all new. Wrote it completely from scratch. Had to do it, I guess, after I abandoned version 2 for over a year.
Anyways, all major pages are up, but mostly empty. Also the guestbook doesn't seem to work. I will add more content and fix the gb as soon as possible. Right now I need some sleep. Thanks for staying at JellowCat's Freak Shoe.
